Many columns in the Alleles and Transgenic Construct #ResponsiveTables on the Gene Reports can now be filtered using more than one term. Eligible columns have a "plus" icon at the lower right corner of the filter box. To use, enter the first term (such as GFP), hit the icon, then enter the second term (such as FLAG).
You may have noticed this feature in the #GeneToolKit
Our new paper comes out in the July issue of G3! We examine the Drosophila prostate-like accessory gland. We re-visit the cellular ploidy of this tissue and uncover some interesting cell cycles during the development of this organ. Please take a look! https://doi.org/10.1093/g3journal/jkae089
Come and work in our lab!
We are advertising an RA position to support a Wellcome Trust funded project using synthetic biology tools to study neighobur interactions in cell-based models of development and disease
You'll need a degree and some research experience in related areas of stem cell & dev biol. Could also be suitable for a recent PhD looking to transition to a postdoc position.
Friendly and collaborative lab who make excellent cakes
Closing date 1st July

'During the last few centuries D. melanogaster populations were invaded by several transposable elements, the most recent of which was thought to be the P-element between 1950 and 1980. Here we describe a novel TE, which we named Spoink, that has invaded D. melanogaster.'

Not many people know about Inge Lehmann, let’s change that. She discovered the solid inner core of the Earth in 1936. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inge_Lehmann
PhD in Cell Biology
I am a Research Scientist and lab manager for the Tootle lab in the Biology department at the University of Iowa. We use Drosophila oogenesis to understand the mechanisms regulating prostaglandin production and function. My particular interest is the developmental roles of lipid droplets and their connection to prostaglandins.
I love biology and teaching people about what is happening in cells. I also am really interested in microscopy.
I also like cats, horses and horseback riding, fish keeping (I have two aquariums), video games-particularly the Half-Life franchise and Half Life mods, and I have recently gotten into VR (NOT META!) so if you want to chat about any of these topics that would be great!
