Yeah, there are definitely some parasocial relationship issues being promulgated over on Twitter. I'm not quite sure it's as a bad as Twitch, which feels awful with the monetisation push for friendliness, but there are definitely a lot of in-group influences that have allowed niches (gender critical for example) to draw people in and keep them hooked.
