It’s been doing this with everything I do even after closing and opening app. Anyone know what’s going on? #mastohelp #TooManyRequests
And on that note, pretty sure I caused the issue by searching, what is the best way to search for specific people? 🧐
So… I always find teeth, don’t know why- they catch my eye somehow. I have many more of these, but most are “just” rabbits, foxes, mice. There is also a complete minute weasel skull somewhere in a box and I have some bird skulls and a variety of vertebrae….harmless collection, honest. I find bones and teeth aesthetically pleasing. Sometimes they end up in sculptures, sometimes they are just in a box as treasure.

Does anyone know about #homingScars? The scars limpets make over time to create a better seal when it is low tide. The scar grows while the limpet grows and takes its shape. After the limpet forages for food it returns to their home. The repeated purposeful action reminded me of human pilgrimages where things touched over and over and over. Does the worn down granite steppingstone that fits a foot perfectly in any way resemble the scar? Or the shiny toe of a statue of a saint…?

Just slowly filling my mastospace with some of my work
A painting of a sunset near Leeds U.K.
The painting is gone to live at its final wall destination. It was part of a little exhibition, in a space we’re locally very proud of; Teggs Nose Gallery, in the Tearoom in Teggs Nose park Cheshire U.K.

So; a throwback piece of uni work (20 years ago)
Inspired by a species of woodworm. A hand bound book with prints from the branch, and a handful of unusable woodworm stamps
(bark beetle - Hylesinus fraxini)
A different species is called Boekdrukker in Dutch (book printer) which is what inspired this little work.

One of my sculptures in a joint exhibition. “The Weight in Patience”. My obsession for a while has been #lichen and drystone walls. This motif keeps coming back in my work; the treasures you find when you stop to look; crystals, plants, lichen, wildlife. And it is all balanced into calmness. There is a common approach in science and art- I think so anyway
Sharing an oldy sculpture of mine. Alas the title temporarily escapes me. Something like “invading&escaping”.

political
Holy moly. I thought this platform was supposed to be the anti nazi opponent? Within 2 hours of signing up- 4 clicks into a #- I’m confronted with an extreme vocal white supremacy tooter. A barrage of anti otherist-whites are under attack- type toots. This is just part of one example. Frankly I’m shocked.
What is the mastodon etiquette of what is/isn’t allowed? What sort of things warrent reporting? I see the report option is there, but I don’t want to faux par on my first day here.
