problem with expensive fountain pens is that they are expensive
like, you call 200 euro keyboard expensive, but then you have 2k pen and it's still actually not even close to the "top" ones

(is any pen so good it should really cost more than some tens of euros? nah, not really, but you know, that's not how status symbols work)

@pony I think the problem with the "top" pen is that it's only an insider thing. Nobody else has a clue about the price of those things. They look like all the other cheaper ones.
And when we speak about functionally "good" models, the ones which are IMO very good are sometimes dirty cheap (like €5-€10).
@FailForward you can always print more zeros on a price tag, that's not hard, the trick is to convince people to actually buy it and it seems that the "luxury" brands can do that even in ~10k price range (which is still nothing compared to what the watchmakers can charge and have someone actually pay)
