All evening I kept hearing an angry, high-pitched buzzing noise. I have now identified this as the sound of J. R. R. Tolkien speed-rotating in his grave on account of that "The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power" season 2 trailer released earlier today.
I didn't see season 1 so I may simply be prejudiced against what could well be a great show, but not a single second of that hammy, clichéd trailer gives me an ounce of confidence that this is worth anyone's time.
