The 2021 "bipartisan infrastructure law" has turned into a bonanza for #climate - heating highway projects. MA Sen. Elizabeth Warren's new Build Green Act would allocate at least $150 billion for fixed-route public transportation projects like subways, light rail and bus rapid transit systems:

It's so sad and demoralizing that some 170 years later in the U.S. we have to implement a new "Underground Railroad" for women to receive reproductive healthcare in Northern states.
And yes, it's a thing. Just search "Abortion Railroad" on Duck Duck Go (please don't use Google).

The pervasive indoctrination she had railed against simply did not exist. Children were not being sexualized, and she could find no examples of critical race theory, an advanced academic concept that examines systemic racism. She’d examined curriculum related to social-emotional learning, which has come under attack by Christian conservatives who say it encourages children to question gender roles and prioritizes feelings over biblical teachings. Instead, Gore found the materials taught children “how to be a good friend, a good human.”

So let me get this straight.
We call it the Arctic because a constellation called the Great Bear (which really doesn't look much like a bear) points in that direction. There also happen to be bears up there.
Meanwhile, we have another pole, but we just call it "Opposite of bear", and there are no bears down there.

Last year, we revealed that almost all of the nearly 100,000 voter registrations challenged in Georgia had been filed by just 6 right-wing activists:

Someone said it's important say this publicly in the US: so I will. (And I think each of us should, online and to friends)

This November *I* will vote for Biden.

I would regard not voting for Biden, particularly in: PA, OH, MI, WI, IN, IL,VA, GA, FL, AZ, ME, NC, NH, etc. as a huge error. I'd be disappointed to find out anyone I knew didn't vote. It's one of a long list of things we need to do. We can't skip it.

And still? We deserve better choices, and in the future we shall have them.

A long time ago, we didn't have Water Treatment Plants. Today, we have regulations about keeping our tap water clean (though sometimes those fall down as we've seen in some areas).

But overall, the idea of having water clean enough to cook and wash with is pretty standard in the U.S. It's good for everyone if we can have that.

The next thing we need to do for public health is focus on clean indoor air. We need air exchange (to bring in more oxygen) and we need a way to filter that air or destroy bacteria and viruses that cause illness. We need this in schools, businesses, and even homes.

Imagine a robot that can do anything a human does but faster and of greater quality. Also imagine one person owns all of them. Now ask a few questions.

1. How do humans buy what the robot makes?

2. Who owns the natural resources that the robot was built out of?

3. Did public money go into R&D?

4. Should one person be the beneficiary of a technology built by generations of humans all building off the work of previous generations?

5. Should citizens be treated like stockholders via dividends?

A portrait of an IRS that has been made helpless to collect taxes owed by the very rich, no matter how blatantly and shamelessly they cheat. Super reporting here by the NY Times and @ProPublica.

The most terrible things are happening in Georgia🇬🇪 you must know
Our Russian government announced a hunt for all people who are known to support Georgia's development and pro-Western course.
The police raid the houses of bloggers, writers, ex-diplomats, beat them, detain them, make false accusations.
Something terrible is starting in Georgia, people are angry and will come out with more protests than before.
I want to raise my child in a member country of the European Union and NATO!

Big #water news.
The conservative SCOTUS killed the national protections for vast numbers of rivers, streams, and wetlands in the Sackett decision.
Now, one state, Colorado, has used state's rights provisions to re-establish those protections. Time for more states to do so.
