Not even 24 hrs after making history as the first company to mass fire workers for pro-Palestine protests, by summarily firing 28 people, Google announced that the “(ir)responsible AI org,” the one they created in response to firing me, is now reporting up the Israeli office, through an SVP there.

Seems like they want us to know how forcefully and clearly they are backing this genocide.

This is terrifying. These “Constitutional sheriffs” are fascistic petty tyrants who believe they’re accountable to nobody. And their wingnut “posses,” hopped up on conspiracy theories, are gonna harass and intimidate voters. Or worse.

I'd just like to call special attention to the massive voter suppression that targets Arizona's Native population. The Native vote delivered Arizona for Biden in 2020, so the GOP doubled down on voter suppression targeting Native Americans. It's just like Stacey Abrams and Fair Fight in Georgia, except it doesn't seem to get as much attention. I think a lot of reporters understand urban voter suppression better than reservation injustices.

There are thousands of rock glaciers in the western US, but how old they are has always been unclear. Colleagues and I just published an #openaccess paper showing that rock glaciers may be much older than we thought, maybe 10,000 years or more. Look at the path Curiosity has taken crawling up the slopes of Mount Sharp on Mars. It has finally reached a fascinating region called Gediz Vallis, which looks like a debris channel filled with boulders and debris. But what formed the channel? Scientists think that a flood of water might have carved the channel relatively quickly, billions of years ago, and then it was filled by debris sliding down from the side of the mountain. Curiosity has its work cut out for it.
