What was that about the reputation of the illustrious US Supreme Court?
"A secretly made documentary expanding on allegations of sexual assault against supreme court justice Brett Kavanaugh has premiered at this year’s Sundance film festival."
“I do hope this triggers outrage,” said producer Amy Herdy in a Q&A after the premiere in Park City, Utah. “I do hope that this triggers action, I do hope that this triggers additional investigation with real subpoena powers.”

About to go get my 5y/o a Covid shot.
We haven’t told her.
She’s absolutely terrified of needles.
If you hear any screaming and crying, Don’t judge 😂😅😩
i was laid-off twice early in my career in very large reorgs / cost-cutting.
the thing that wld have been helpful for me to hear then was 'this is not abt you. you were a number on someone's spreadsheet. they wanted that number to go down by 1000 or 2000 or 10,000'.
so, to anyone who needs to hear that today:
it's not abt you. you did nothing wrong.
@Bigthinkingcap And along those lines…. https://youtu.be/1R3G_beQccA
@Bigthinkingcap I had forgotten about chiller theatre until seeing this. https://youtu.be/Ux3laLkueZk
@sand @salliebecker Good job dad!
Just refinished this plant stand I built a few years ago. It was previously on the back deck, but the wife wanted inside. It's in good shape except for discoloration in a few places from over-watering the plants. Treated it with oxalic acid got most of the stains out.
Originally finished it with Danish oil. This time I used two coats of Tung oil followed by a coat of paste wax. Love the beautiful amber patina.
It's made from cypress, which is a really interesting wood to work.
Lunchtime, charity book shop. Found this, Practical Vim (e.g. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/13607232-practical-vim).
Inside, this bookmark. Someone printed out Xkcd #378 (https://xkcd.com/378/), stuck it onto card, and used it in a vim textbook. Yes, of course I bought it. And an inch-to-the-mile map of the quantocks. #vim

NEW: Two months ago, I wrote a story on suicidal Yale students being pressured to withdraw. Tonight, Yale announced sweeping changes that allow students in crisis to take leaves of absence, keep insurance & receive help https://www.washingtonpost.com/education/2023/01/18/yale-mental-health-policies-change/

Cannot reiterate this enough:
PLEASE don’t request refunds from Apple for any unused time on your Twitterrific or Tweetbot subscriptions.
It could literally bankrupt small shops like these.

@futurebird Took the math behind computer science to teach me that there are completely reasonable questions whose answer cannot be computed. Uncomputable problems. Now I run into it all the time and most people won't believe me.
