Southern Iceland is home to one of the most surreal landscapes I’ve ever seen. Nothing but moss as far as the eye could see. We got close to the ground and looked carefully, but didn’t see a single insect even when we gently rolled a small rock to peek underneath.

@JimsPhotos @Caroline21 I love both of them. Here's some photo evidence that nuthatches go every way including upside down!

Chcemy, by nasze polskie urosło?

This is my favourite photo I have taken. It is the Kalbarri National Park in Western Australia.

I am 100% not shitting you when I say scientists named mastodons after their teeth which they thought looked like nipples. “Mastos” as in breast. “odont” as in tooth.
We’re on a website that, in Greek, literally means “Booby Tooth.”

I should probably do a proper introductory toot, seeing that more and more people are making the move from the avian to the proboscid side of the internet...

Staggering findings.

Yet one more piece of evidence that we are sleepwalking towards environmental catastrophe.

By the time we wake up, it will be far too late.

Well, at least if you're a wolf.

Communications study by Meyer et al. shows that infected with Toxoplasma gondii were bolder and a whopping 46 times more likely to be pack leaders.🐺
