#Alberta's conservative government (UCP) has rejected an amendment to the 'Alberta Pension Plan Act'. Premier Smith now has the choice of whether or not to accept any Alberta Pension Plan (APP) referendum results in the future.
The UCP govt used its majority to shut down the NDP amendment, which means that even if Albertans vote in a referendum to stay in the Canadian Pension Plan (CPP), the UCP can disregard the results and switch to the APP anyways

@gemelliz
UCP will turn the pension funds over to 'friends' who will invest it in another friend's company. That company will move the money around, go out of business and all Alberta's pensions will have been stolen.
@vickietorious @Oldfartrant @gemelliz Agree, this is about keeping the oil and gas industry alive as investors abandon it once the market disappears.
