Kentucky has become the next state to believe that elected rednecks know more than your doctors.

Hint: if you support elected officials dictating acceptable medical practices, you are the problem. There are exceptions to this, naturally. Breeding organ donars crosses a line, for example.

Being a doctor doesn't make somebody more qualified to decide what is moral.

@Phil you are correct. But I stand on the basic fact the government has no part in this.

@JonKramer My normal inclination is the keep government out of as much as possible. however, who would you enforce obvious horrors without government and where to draw the line is tricky business.
So it seems to me that they best way to do it, is the lowest level of government possible so it has a better chance of reflecting the standards and will of the people.

@Phil would you hire people who commit those horrors?? Peer pressure works pretty well. I'm not suggesting this is THE solution, but I suggest the government often is the source of the problem rather than the solution. In the case of the topic at hand, government is creating a problem, and solving nothing.
