@futurebird that was fascinating.
The best thing about painting a few of your ants is that it allows you to follow one ant through her day. Find out what tasks she likes best and how she likes to relax.

@DeanObeidallah that hasn't happened yet, and if it does, won't shield the murderer from federal charges. Texas is a state that tried to violate a SCOTUS ruling that requires government to be able to issue pardons. To do this in Texas, all pardons must be recommended by a pardon commission, that never actually meets. So the governor may never actually have a pardon to sign. Abbot may be able to force the commission to meet though... I'm not sure.
@TonyStark this is one of the few times I have agreed with big pharma. No judge, or sets of judges, or legislative body should be dictating the legality of any medical procedure or medication.
Or, as I like to put it, guess what Big Pharma was working on this weekend? They seem to want to have some input about the potential for their blockbuster drugs to be un-approved by some guy named Matt.
Something, something, Republicans support business, something else.

Fort Rucker, the home of US Army Aviation, named for a Confederate, is renamed today Fort Novosel for CW4 Michael Novosel Sr., an Army Aviator and Medal of Honor recipient who saved thousands, flying over 2,500 extraction missions in Vietnam. You can read more about this hero at the link below.

@LunarLioness814@mastodon.social I appreciate your viewpoint, but disagree. Until police recognize that their occupation isn't even one of the top 10 most dangerous professions, and things like commercial fishermen and landscaping are far more dangerous, their fears fall on deaf ears with me. They treat civilians as the enemy. They have what, twice the instance of domestic violence than other people? And then claim immunity. Yes, there are good police officers. There are good people in any large enough group. ANY. But the way they interact with the public, violating civil rights, destroying the futures of people... building a habitat house or delivering food to the elderly just doesn't compensate. I will never again trust the police. I look at them as a credible threat, no matter what the situation. Too many bad apples.
@CStamp @NaturaArtisMagistra @StillIRise1963 I keep rereading this post, and I really think this is the root cause of so many problems. Politicians and other government employees violating their oaths. And claiming Sovereign immunity.
@Mary625@newsie.social @NaturaArtisMagistra @StillIRise1963, the common element isn't guns. Women have equal access and yet rarely commit atrocities. The common element is, almost without doubt, young male conservatives. Take guns away, and the issue still exists. We are just sweeping the problem under the rug. Passing the buck to the next generation. Please demand that any representative you will vote for requires that the CDC study this issue as a matter of public health. I suspect the problem is more than just young conservative males, but without objective research, which should have been done decades ago, all our responses will be knee jerk.
@Mary625@newsie.social @NaturaArtisMagistra @CStamp @StillIRise1963 mastodon is not showing me which post of mine you are questioning. So I am unable to clarify whichever post you questioned. I apologize, I am not dodging your query.
@ecmclaughlin love this. But what kind of monster has free space on her bookshelves? Declutering has limits!! :)

@CStamp @NaturaArtisMagistra @StillIRise1963 there are so many better ways, human ways, to have power and control. No one is perfect, but look at Jimmy Carter, or even Gerald Ford. Or Bernie Sanders. You don't need to be a monster. This is a choice those old men make. And, to be fair, there are Margaret Thatchers and Imelda Marcos type women doing the same thing... but that's far more rare.
@NaturaArtisMagistra @StillIRise1963 @Curiouscat@postpandemicparty.org thank you for your service. Not your military service, but your service to humanity calling your congress woman and taking an active part. We need millions more like you. And less veterans...
I would like to suggest she vote for the CDC actively investing gun violence as a public heath issue. I will no longer vote for anyone who doesn't support this.
@CStamp @NaturaArtisMagistra @StillIRise1963 I thought about speculating on that, because you are obviously correct. I suspect it is behavior they learned young. But I'm honestly not sure. I think that topic is best left to a doctoral dissertation in psychology. I just don't know why the elderly politicians turn out like they do.
@Curiouscat@postpandemicparty.org @NaturaArtisMagistra @StillIRise1963 I was military, armament. 45KM5 if that means anything. I am way too familiar with weapons. An AR 15 is not a weapon I would carry into battle. No army in the world would. And no army does. Looking like, the style of the weapon, doesn't make it a military weapon.
If you have questions, I am far from an expert, but I do know more than 99% of the population on the subject of hardware.
@CStamp @NaturaArtisMagistra @StillIRise1963 agreed. Strongly. We should be imprisoning the ones who violate their oaths by lying. But I suggest it should go further. Imprison the county clerk who lies on the job. The cop who lies. ANY public employee.
I would note that many of the worst abusers are, once again, young conservative males.
@Curiouscat@postpandemicparty.org @StillIRise1963 @NaturaArtisMagistra
The key word is "style". I don't believe it possible to reasonably regulate style. I would be open to any style based regulations, if they can be shown to be effective.
