I didn’t really expect such a small change as ripping our Twitter link out of #LineaSketch and replacing it with our Mastodon to feel as good as it did but boy, did it. Lots more to go. 👍

It is remarkable how many people think it is an intrinsically costly process to publish #OpenAccess articles.
It is not.
Publishing in traditional journals is expensive only because the profits made are huge. The actual cost is minimal.
Looks like Pythonista for iOS isn't isn't dead. This is really good news.
New study finds "no substantial evidence of any biological advantages for trans women competing in elite women's sport."
"'What threatens women's elite sport, for cis and trans women, is not trans women, but is rather misogyny in the form of underfunding, non-parity in participation and leadership, inequitable sport space allocation/access, and a range of sporting opportunities not afforded to women...in equitable ways.'"
@ivory if we are part of the Ivory TestFlight would you prefer we remain in to beta test or that we switch to the release now that it is out?
You want to know how I really feel?

P.S. That's the tame version.
“The substantial body of literature documenting the history of climate lobbying and propaganda by fossil fuel interests has been described as a “vast blind spot” of major climate assessments […]. Yet bringing quantitative techniques from the physical sciences to bear […] has enabled us to conclude with precision that, decades ago, ExxonMobil understood as much about climate change as did academic and government scientists.”

Almost 24 hours later and still no official/unofficial info from inside Twitter. I'm going to continue as if this was all done on purpose.
What now? Ivory goes into hyper mode with just the absolute minimum 3-4 things that have to be done finished up and then off to Apple. Probably going to be a bunch of things I'm not super happy with but I guess we'll fix it in post.
Hopefully everyone knows what we're capable of and can live with some, hopefully not long lived, rough edges/missing features.
“Mansplaining as a service.” Spot on.

One of my tips here on #Mastodon is to liberally block people who are trolling. I used to strive for understanding and engagement, thinking I could win a troll over to a more empathetic and sensible course. Here, I don't get trolled often, but the moment someone seems me post about leaving Twitter and suggests I'm censoring others or against the First Amendment, that's an easy block. I'm fine being challenged, but if someone attacks rather than engages, block away! You'll be happier for it!
