>Gotta wait 3 freaking weeks for episode 3 because of the Olympics

FFFFF
As a kid, I didn't have cable TV and I had to watch the cartoons on the national TV channel on the weekend in the morning. I fucking hated the Olympics because they would wreck my dear cartoons for a few weeks
... It's happening again. Curse you Olympics, my old nemesis
Show thread

@coolboymew I miss when Global and CTV had cartoons on the weekend.

@Kovaelin I was mostly talking about Radio-Canada. I was then stuck watching stuff I didn't understand on the CBC

I don't quite remember CTV having cartoons, but I remember Global, which I randomly discovered one day while messing with the channels and antenna. I saw that they aired some freaking Digimon series, Rhyno High, that shark cartoon and a few others, but I discovered it too damn late as it seemed to be on the butt end of around when they stopped airing cartoons

@coolboymew I remember Flying Rhino Junior High too! Digimon might have been the last new cartoon Global licensed. They actually ran it until the end of the second digi-destined story. CTV didn't have as much on Sundays, but they had the One Saturday Morning (all Disney content) lineup, which was fun. @Weeble @berkberkman

@Kovaelin @Weeble @berkberkman it might have been CTV that I watched during the olympics then, I remember it airing Doug at the time

@coolboymew I do recall the French channels had a lot more timeslots for cartoons though, especially on weekdays. Not sure about now, but I do know one of them airs localized anime films almost every month. Usually old but good ones.

@Weeble @berkberkman

@Kovaelin @Weeble @berkberkman Radio-Canada had 6AM to noon on Saturday and 6AM to 11AM on Sunday. The difference tho' is that CBC had that time slow every weekday while Radio-Canada had no cartoons
Radio-Québec had cartoons but outside of the early morning (which I used to watch some before going to school in elementary and high school) it quickly went to toddler cartoon after that. In the early morning at some point they had freaking Tatsunoko Cinderella
