Mastodon UI is inconsistent on whether it redirects the federated users' profiles/feeds to their corresponding fediverse instances, or shows the user info in its own server's UI. Is there a reason for such behavior? Does it even make any sense to redirect, as messing with shit^W"customized" interface designs is clearly less convenient for the instance users than poking their home instance UI? Especially given some instances lack the knobs for interactions like replying and reposting, and even if they do, it takes additional steps to confirm the desired actions on the home instance (and in case of control freaks like me, it also requires to permit the foreign instance to execute javascript and store cookies).
