Today suddenly attended a TIARA meeting for the first time.
Thanks @globalc for the announcement and an interesting presentation!
At last my T-Echo collected some #meshtastic nodes in Tokyo, I've been waiting for months! 😅
Hope @globalc will share his presentation soon but TLDR: there's an idea of overlay mesh-net on top of LoRa with meshtastic as discovery channel to sort and direct messages.
Kind of FIDO but more decentralized and capable of surviving in case of any disasters, with addressing, mailboxes, and packaged messaging.
Currently there's a prototype with TCP/IP over LoRa, but my personal opinion is TCP/IP is just too heavy for such a channel, we need some lighter and more distributed protocol. I briefly checked the Yggdrasil spec, but it seems even heavier and requires better connectivity, do you have any ideas what can be used for multi-path low-bandwidth high-latency channels to deliver messages reliably?
