Plausible, although I expe{t this rule would've been lobbied by the corporate rather than by the unions? Income taxes, ultimately, are priced in and paid for by the employers, so it's the employers who make the margin by recording per diem as tax-free?

@nobody It becomes the same thing once you study the economy and dive into negotiations. If your KPI is raising workers' income, solving it through pushing tax reductions and simultaneous salary raises is a possible solution. The screenshot looks like what a truckless trucker labor union or so would aim for.
