Should I put money away for retirement, or is it pointless because the world will burn to ashes before I can use that money?

Building on that thought, should I care much about my health, or will I die soon enough that it won’t matter? And should I concern myself with the environment, or is my individual impact negligible, leaving us to accept whatever fate awaits?
