As much as I favor minimalism, scrot is _not_ the tool to use for making screenshots. Let's be honest: how often do you share a screenshot to boast about your beautiful desktop appearance vs to draw the attention to something particular, such as when making a bug report?

Quick and dirty annotation tools should be built-in, unless you are a graphomaniac and writing long-winded explanations makes you happy - which is why I prefer flameshot (https://github.com/flameshot-org/flameshot)
