What's a good way for me to know mastodon.social has been widely defederated? I'd probably switch if that happens. I'm thinking of hosting an instance just for me, but most providers don't offer anything that small.
Oof. It looks like mastodon.social and mastodon.cloud are both doing racist anti-BIPOC moderation.
Does anyone have recommendations for a better server for just general tech? I think self-hosting is too much trouble, and I'd rather pay $5/month to a decent human to handle moderation for now.
@heathborders I'm on qoto.org, and I haven't noticed any problem (though I haven't looked proactively).
I saw someone else recommended hachyderm.io, but I won't use that b/c my client blocks it.
