I understand the #1stAmendment bars the State from abridging #freespeech. That includes the right to speak untruths, subject to certain strictures, (e.g, “Fire” in a crowded theater). I also understand it is not an infringement of a liar’s 1st Amendment rights to point out that they are in fact #lying, and provide the facts to substantiate that.
It seems like some people in public life react as if being #factchecked and called out for lying violates their 1st Amendment rights in some fashion.

@M_C_B52 FWIW, "fire in a crowded theater" is a discredited trope and has been for 100 years. You can absolutely shout "fire" in a crowded theater under US law.
