This morning I idly googled what they call pipe cleaners now (something I'd been wondering about for a while but hadn't yet needed to know) and stumbled into a whole ecosystem of idiots complaining that the name had been changed due to "political correctness" no it was changed because the kids using them for crafts have no clue what a $%^&ing pipe is you nimrods.

A pipe cleaner is made of two lengths of wire twisted together trapping short lengths of fiber (pile) between them. Chenille yarn is made the same way, which is why craft pipe cleaners are also called chenille stems.
