Or, it was said that LGBTQ youth are more likely to be bullied by their peers on social media. My understanding is that LGBTQ youth are more likely to be bullied offline, too.
They didn't appear to point out something that isn't a societal danger generally.
Some dangers they pointed out, though, looked like a rediscovery of things I was taught as a kid. Such as the dangers of speaking to strangers and keeping certain info private...
@ThinkingSapien That's crazy. Even if it is happening, the occasional bullying on social media where you have a block button is vastly outweighed by the benefit young LGBTQ people get by finding inclusive and supportive communities when the real world offers them nothing but sorrow and fear.
Yeah, it doesn't sound like they got to know people within the LGBTQ community to make this decision. But, over all, I feel like this is driven by personal preferences more than wider considerations.
@ThinkingSapien Yeah, iirc, Mike Masnick had a pretty good breakdown of how the new warning was in direct contradiction to the evidence put out by the same attorney general's office.
