I'm starting to think that U.S. citizens should maybe boycott the November presidential elections: neither candidate is any good. How do we show the political parties that they need to select better leadership?

@JeffC1956 Unfortunately, boycotts have the opposite effect in elections. The problem is that there is functionally no difference between refusing to vote and just not caring enough to vote. And refusing to vote doesn't actually send a message to anyone like reducing a company's profit does... it just cedes control to those who still vote.

@LouisIngenthron Oh, I think it would send a pretty strong message! "You know, X was only elected by 3 percent of the population that was stupid enough to vote." Plus imagine the response of other countries.
