I can’t help but notice these supposed strategists are playing right into to this “weak and feeble” bullshit narrative that right wing media has drilled into their audience. Trump spat complete BS for an hour and a half, but because he did it with gusto, Biden’s doomed?? What does that say about YOU that the strategists are all but convinced you’ll vote for a felon/rapist/liar with orange face paint who thinks “black jobs” is a thing because Biden has a cold?? 🤔
@TonyStark @Acronymesis Or it's a sign that one party actually cares about merit and results and walks the talk while the other is a cult of personality.
Biden isn't entitled to our support; He needs to earn it. And letting Trump walk all over him in the debate is the opposite of that.
@cbgrey @Acronymesis Earn my vote, earn my vote- when he’s already done that over and over.
Get some new, less white dude material.
Unnecessarily aggressive and a bit racist but ok. He has my vote regardless but opposing Trump requires someone who can go toe to toe with him. Regardless of how great Biden's administration has been, that alone is not enough to subdue the “dagger at the throat of democracy”.
We're not in an era where administrative accomplishments matter much in an election, sadly.
@cbgrey @Acronymesis You’re giving in to the idea that the media will treat any Democrat differently. History shows that’s not going to happen. I don’t know you. Do that somewhere else.
Yeah you can miss me with that “earn your vote” nonsense. If the choice is between the guy who will end democracy and the guy who won’t and you’re more concerned about who had the better debate, check your priorities.
Wouldn’t hurt to check your privilege either.
@Acronymesis @LouisIngenthron @TonyStark
Speaking only for me in this thread - this isn't Biden has to win my vote vs Trump (God no), but the candidate on the stage does need to be able to win the fight to get people to go out and vote. Maybe it was just one bad night but damn, the guy we're trusting to win this VERY close and critical fight didn't show up to the job yesterday (IMO).
Are people really arguing that Biden has to win their vote _vs Trump_? That’s not how I read any of this.
@cbgrey @Acronymesis It’s one night. One night out of 4 years. You came here, as a reminder.
Nobody made you do that.
@Acronymesis @cbgrey @LouisIngenthron @TonyStark
The sad thing about it, debating a lying criminal who is a cult leader of millions of mentally unstable minions was totally unnecessary.
I didn't like that idea from the time he invited trump to debate.
Biden was already building a large enough coalition of voters to defeat Trump.
As they say, Democrats are good at snatching defeat from the jaws of victory, I guess?
@GoatRoper @Acronymesis @cbgrey The invitation came from CNN, not Biden.
If Trump has said yes and Biden said no, we’d still be getting the “too old” comments. It doesn’t make a difference.
@GoatRoper @Acronymesis @cbgrey @LouisIngenthron @TonyStark
My feeling too. Can’t for the life of me understand why they agreed to a debate on #CNN after that disgraceful ‘town hall ‘.
@Acronymesis @cbgrey @LouisIngenthron @TonyStark Well said.
@Acronymesis @cbgrey @TonyStark I'll be voting for him either way. It's not my vote I'm worried about.
@Acronymesis Don’t let the doomsday people get to you.
@LouisIngenthron @TonyStark @Acronymesis
Throwing away the baby with the bath water is extremely poor judgment. IMO
@LouisIngenthron @TonyStark @Acronymesis
This is a binary choice. Less support for one is more support for the other. No way does one bad debate performance justify risking trump's reelection.
@66gardeners @TonyStark @Acronymesis It's demonstrably not binary, though. People have a third choice: to stay home. That's why we need a strong candidate. If he can't get out the vote in the middle, and Trump can, we lose. Period.
@LouisIngenthron @TonyStark @Acronymesis
The choice to win is binary.
@LouisIngenthron @TonyStark @Acronymesis Hear, hear.
