People who do #sysAdmin & #techSupport, when someone is bitching about software that you recommend & it doesn't work right, do you feel bad? I do.
It's different with SW that's required by a company. I can say, "Hey, I didn't write the software! I didn't design the UI!"
But if they are using something I recommend I feel a need to defend it.
I wonder if software developers say "If *I* wrote this I would never do that!" And they to the people ask, "Well, what SW is like what you would do?"
@spocko Young software developers look at software, and absolutely say "If *I* wrote this I would never do that!"
Experienced software developers look at software and say "I bet there was a complex dependency chain of related tech debt that necessitated this odd choice."
