I am ducking frustrated.

Biden is a fine candidate. He had a few verbal stumbles on national television.

His opponent lied throughout the debate and refused to state unequivocally that he would support the results of the election.

Why aren't news outlets reporting that? Why aren't Dems up and down the ticket shouting this shit from the rooftops? Why are they willingly on their back feet?

@jess Why didn't Biden push back on the lies during the debate? If he can't do his job, why should we expect anyone else to do it for him?

@LouisIngenthron Given I opened with "Biden is a fine candidate" you know I disagree with you.

But hey, I'm sure the Republicans appreciate you carrying their water for them.

@jess It's interesting that I criticized his actions and you interpreted that as criticizing his character.

If he's such a fine candidate, then why was he unable to coherently push back on Trump's lies himself?

@LouisIngenthron It's interesting that you think your argument in bad faith isn't transparent.

Biden *did* point out lies throughout the debate. He took time from several responses to point out where Trump had lied.

But you knew that, and you seem unconcerned with Trump's behavior, so thanks for playing.

@jess Not coherently.

I watched it from beginning to end. Trump walked all over him.

And it's funny that you assume "bad faith" just because someone disagrees with you.
I voted for Biden in 2020 and I'm voting for him again this year.

I'm just worried that won't be enough.

@LouisIngenthron I do not assume bad faith when someone disagrees with me.

I assume bad faith when someone ignores my words and argues my main point to no appreciable end.

If you're worried your vote for Biden won't be enough, arguing with someone who agrees with you is a pointless way to spend your energy, don't you agree?

@jess On the contrary. If I don't think Biden can win, then my best option is to convince other dems to get behind another candidate. If enough do, then Biden might do the same, and that might be enough to save us.

The first step of that is getting other democrats to acknowledge that Biden is the kind of liability that may hand us a Trump presidency.

@LouisIngenthron Oh wait I know this one. We should all rally around a workable candidate! One who, perhaps, defeated Trump once? One who is as effective a President as can be given Congress and the Courts?

States have rules regarding Presidential candidates. He can't just bow out now.

If Fox News says Biden should quit, you *must* see that as a sign that he should not. Right?

@LouisIngenthron Which is to say if Biden quits, the GOP has lawsuits waiting to keep whomever else *off* ballots.

I don't want that kind of confusion. I want to beat the GOP and spend the next four years arguing for a Dem candidate who inspires the world.
