It is easy to succumb to despair, when looking at US politics. I think that is the wrong attitude to take though.
Imagine: what if Trump _doesn't_ win in November? He will have lost twice in a row. And he will almost certainly not be a viable choice after that. He will be marked for what he is: a perennial loser, who got lucky once. And he will have lost decisively, despite the best efforts of billionaires and the Supreme Court.
Imagine how wonderful that day will be? Imagine the massive amounts of crow the news media will have to ingest? Imagine that feeling of hope, long forgotten, welling forth again?
Isn't _that_ something to go to the polls for?
@rodneylives That would be nice, but it's not super realistic. *If* he doesn't win, he's not going to go quietly into the night.
@rodneylives I'm much less worried about him running again and much more worried about a sequel to J6, this time backed by secretaries of state that have already been installed by the MAGA movement.
@LouisIngenthron He won't no, but it won't matter nearly as much any more. Not only will he be a twice-over loser with an increasing number of felony counts chasing him down, but if he decided to run again he'll be two years older than Biden is now. It would change the narrative completely.
