The irony is that the Plan B meme is the Biden-Harris ticket's way to tell Pelosi to go blow: Biden leaves office, making Harris the incumbent and cutting off all the racist, sexist efforts to bypass her in the open-convention fantasy.
Pelosi Told Colleagues She Would Favor ‘Open’ Nomination Process if Biden Drops Out https://www.nytimes.com/2024/07/19/us/politics/nancy-pelosi-joe-biden-drop-out.html?smid=tw-share
So now even Pelosi is endorsing anti-democracy?
Perhaps it is time for her to join the opponents of democracy in the GOP.
@MylesRyden @jeffjarvis so an open process would be anti-democratic?
@noksucow @MylesRyden @jeffjarvis The democratic process has already happened.
@Beeks @Kraemer_HB @noksucow @MylesRyden @jeffjarvis Right. The Democrats in my state cancelled the presidential preference primary and just ran Biden. I never got a choice. *THAT* was anti-democratic. We need to fix it.
@overstrike @Beeks @Kraemer_HB @noksucow @MylesRyden @jeffjarvis Right, so somebody's being disenfranchised no matter what (especially when you consider how badly they hid Biden's condition from the party members that did get a primary vote), which is exactly why disenfranchisement doesn't work as supporting evidence in favor of either argument.
@LouisIngenthron @Beeks @Kraemer_HB @noksucow @MylesRyden @jeffjarvis Florida? Yes, the Florida Democratic Party has been absolute garbage for 20 years and that does need fixing. But it’s not relevant to the present discussion, because there’s no still scenario where you get to vote _and_ primary voters in the states that didn’t cancel will also be disenfranchised.
