@MasterNinjaTS I also went to see the monarch butterflies in Mexico right before covid (writer mentions they went). It is still glorious but what she doesn’t mention is that the locals are cutting down the forest that brings the butterflies in the first place & that is clearly evident when you go and is the biggest problem. Why do they cut the forest? Animal agriculture.

@MasterNinjaTS if Starlink blocks out all stars, that will also distrupt insects- many insects still use starlight to navigate. I wonder how big light pollution plays in the decline of insects?

@carlysagan At this point everything is inter-connected and I wouldn't be surprised if light-pollution is making things worse as well.
