"When you combine that with America's appetite for unaerodynamic pickups, the result is enormous battery packs. An extended-range F-150 Lightning needs 131 kWh to hit 300 miles, and the Hummer EV increases that to 212 kWh—enough to build more than six electric Mini batteries."

This week a young female #MexicanGrayWolf ran into northern New Mexico, passed over the arbitrary Interstate 40 boundary, and is continuing on her way toward Colorado, breaking records for the recovery program’s geographic extent and giving conservation groups a reason to celebrate. #GoAsha!

Mexican wolves like this one need to be allowed to roam wherever they choose. We're rooting on her progress into northern New Mexico and beyond the arbitrarily imposed recovery zone.

Some progress on the astronomy part of the problem. Nothing yet on orbits potentially becoming unusable.

Wear a mask in crowded spaces. Social distance when possible. Advocate for remote work if you can. Is being mask-less in a crowded place really worth your life? Covid appears to be here to stay until all of us realize the risk and make constant effort to stop it.

Click bait sucks, but 2023 click bait aimed at '90s aviation conspiracy nerds grudgingly gets a golf clap.

“The whole process of this rule is to devalue #PublicLand,” Grijalva said. “You’re basically handing [land] over to the industries, whichever they might be … and all the protections that are in place under federal law, in terms of siting those and getting permission for those [lands] disappears, and that changes the complexion of it completely.”

From our own #Colorado Director Michael Saul, "We in Colorado now have the opportunity, in wolf restoration, to begin reversing an ecological mistake of historic proportions. It’s time to tell our Wildlife Commission to tighten up CPW’s draft plan, eliminate scientifically unjustifiable loopholes for wolf killing and make that promise into a reality."

Since it's I'd like to highlight the Andean Condor (Vultur gryphus). With a wingspan of up to ten feet and excellent vision, one of the places it can be found is Cerro Pachón, Chile - home to other large things with excellent vision.

Some Iceland magic today: graves each with their own Christmas lights

The new Super Orbital Transport has to be one of the most fun kits I've ever built. Really fun, every step of the way. I took two small creative liberties with it; added a tailcone on the MMT for a bit more finished look and went with pearl white paint (pics don't do it justice). Looking forward to having some soft green grass on our local field to give this its first flight.

@MasterNinjaTS fireworks started crazy early here and Pico has been scared all day. Ugh. One firework show should be enough - but no, every single house has a show lol
