It’s been stormy 24/7 and I never thought I’d say this but it felt sooo good to hike around in the storm and get soaked.

Trying not to have covid anxiety 24/7 but it’s not working out. Went to a small art gallery party & one of the artists asked me if I wanted to join for dinner. I sat at the remaining seat & took a few bites & the girl sitting next to me finishes eating & puts on a mask. Her friends ask why she’s putting on a mask now (when she hadn’t the whole party) & she says she’s asymptomatic but still positive. I get the f*%k outta there immediately. I think I’m done with people. All people. Just done.

We currently have a cluster of sunspots longer than the Carrington cluster, in nearly the same location, that is about half the radius of the Sun!

Question for the expert @carlysagan : Is the number of people and their bikes the standard way of measuring vehicle capacity at Burning Man? 😀

Another very wide cluster of sun spots - very patchy - are all of these patches interacting? I’d assume so but what does that mean for flares and CMEs?

Thinking about this tonight: are humans the only species that doesn’t give back to the planet?
“We don’t give anything to any other form of life on the planet whatsoever. And in that way, we are genuinely unique. Go ahead and try and think of a lifeform that gives nothing back — whose bioproductivity is nothing. I don’t think there is one.” eand.co/why-the-economics-of-o

these work pants have had it.

theyre about to become work booty shorts

The road next to Carbfix has hit the boiling point - 100 degrees C (212 F). Wtaf are we doing?! Bc people with no scientific literacy (or no common sense?) get VC capital to stuff CO2 under volcanoes, we’re making roads literally boil. ruv.is/frettir/innlent/2023-05

Freehand this time (angle is tilted because I couldn’t be bothered to get up and take it off the cupboard it’s stuck on)…

Not sure if I’ve seen this wide of a sun spot cluster before… sun spot archipelago?

Hopefully the #USFWS will stop dithering, and protect the #BiStateSageGrouse this time. This merry-go-round of agency failures and court smackdowns is not helping the birds.

“Maybe the third time will be the charm for getting this population segment the protection it so clearly deserves,” said Laura Cunningham, California director of the Western Watersheds Project.“None of the science shows that the bi-state birds have benefited from the service’s dithering."

Only got one bird off the ground today. Totally Not a King Kraken maiden flight on an Aerotech G76. This is the first I've built zipperless and it worked great. Next flight should be on a H115 Dark Matter.

My 3" upscale Goblin got the rail mount stuck beside the motor retainer and it never left the pad...not the best use of a F40 motor 🤪

Totally Not A King Kraken. Ready to fly.

38mm, 3" mailer tube, printed cone, baffled, zipperless.

Grrr....

“The Service keeps this type of action under wraps until there’s already a dead wolf, limiting opportunities for meaningful discussions around conflict prevention or livestock management.“The public has a right to know when there are kill orders for endangered wildlife. Both #MexicanWolves and #PublicLands belong to the American public and shouldn’t be managed exclusively for the livestock industry.”
