Recently watched a documentary on PBS' American Experience series called "Plague at the Golden Gate".
You should catch it if you can.
It echoes our present day #Covid crisis:
* Refusal to promptly acknowledge and address the direness of the problem,
* The racism in assuming the disease originates with/is isolated to one group of people or another,
* The unnecessary deaths,
* The scorning of scientists and physicians...
Very sad for history to rhyme in all these awful ways.

Yes. The episode is based upon the book. I had never heard of this horrifying epidemic before.
Now is a busy time for me, but I do plan to read this book when I get a chance.
