Dr Nguyen, This reflects the real issue of public health at the local level. Ramp up for crisis; zika, dengue, vaccine preventable disease...Dodge the bullet by luck, or response, and it escapes the public mind until the next crisis...But without preparedness resources, response will be slower, less robust....
@bicmay Concur. Preparedness funds paid for me and activities related; plans that could be applied (Anthrax, influenza [applied directly to covid], nuclear power plant response...my fear/assessment is that most of it will fall by the wayside based on federal opinion/decision making. Although no longer responsible, I hope the locality governments (400 sq mi, 0.5M citizens) have a better understanding about response....
