Never too late to learn new stuff. What are the essentials you need to share with new teachers? I can’t tell you how many workshops I’ve put together that addressed the needs of new teachers.
What combination of must-haves do new teachers need? I hope you'll share, “What are your ‘top five’ for new teachers every year?”
#Education #NewTeachers #DigitalTools #GoogleEdu #TCEA #EdTech #EssentialTips #EduTooter @edutooters https://blog.tcea.org/top-five-tech-tools-new-teachers/
@mguhlin @edutooters
I start with the basics:
1. How to organize Google Classroom
2. How to set up Gmail effectively
3. How to organize and use Google Drive
4. How to use our SIS (Aspen)
5. How to use provided hardware
6. Provide a list of school subscriptions and a list of all their supports
----
Later I can get into more interesting stuff like how to use our subscriptions, Chrome extensions, resources for templates, etc. But it starts with the real simple stuff that gives them control over their own space... physically and digitally.
@mguhlin @edutooters
I also offer "Digital Self-Care" sessions for Google Drive, Gmail... it's a way for educators to feel better about their own digital space.
@MrsDi Mindfulness and self-care are quite important, especially "post-COVID" (as if it is gone, not really) and at a time when expectations are so high to close learning gaps. Thanks so much for sharing. I hope others will do the same and tag the #EduTooters group @edutooters
