AI + Ethics Curriculum for Middle School
from the MIT Media Lab
"This project seeks to develop an open source curriculum for middle school students on the topic of artificial intelligence. Through a series of lessons and activities, students learn technical concepts—such as how to train a simple classifier—and the ethical implications those technical concepts entail, such as algorithmic bias."

Ooo... This is very interesting and perfect timing: yesterday I was wondering if I should (/could) teach a unit on AI with my Middle School kids. Seems like a timely topic.

AI is often thought of as a computer science topic, so I love that there is an ethical component to this unit. Anyone know of any other 'social studies' resources?

@Richard @MrsDi @edutooters I’ve been talking with my media literacy #Mediazkit middle school students about AI quite a bit the past few years. I have a variety of related links on our “Wonder Links” page. Just search on the page for “AI” lessons.wesfryer.com/wonder-li #EduTooter

@MrsDi @Richard @edutooters Please let me know if you have any questions! :-) I love "Sparking Student Curiosity with Wonder Links" & shared a presentation about that this past semester: wiki.wesfryer.com/Home/handout
