@HikerFromVA Hi, I'm a beginner at #graphics but fwiw I would also trying adding a layer and adjusting opacity.
I haven't used Lightroom but I'll just mention that for #mac I love both Pixelmator (paid w/free trial) and PaintPro by Yong Chen (free & paid; not related to Windows app!). They're perfect for a non-expert to do what I need without being overwhelming 😀 (And they don't collect data!)
Pixlr online is another fave ❤️ and I've graduated to the E version, haha! (https://pixlr.com/editor/)

Hello #Mastodon my first toot, a wee #Autumn photo from the Ullapool to Stornoway ferry #photography #scotland
I posted a message to mastodon via ham radio! iPhone via Bluetooth to a Mobilinkd TNC3 modem to BaoFeng UB5R. The signal went about 4 miles to the UT Austin Amateur Radio Club's antenna on top of Physics building (KA5D) where their iGate send it to 4X5MG whose bot posted it. Pretty neat! https://botsin.space/@aprs/109316550326136608
@cristinleach Oh, wow! Thanks for sharing! I love standing stones but unfortunately they're not something we have in the US.
Have only seen Stonehenge IRL but still hoping to get back to EU and see a few more!!
There’s a #StandingStoneSunday hashtag?! 😍 Here are a few from my phone. These are the “fingers” at Gurranes Stone Row, Cork, Ireland.
For other Mastodon #newbies, here's a good short article with #tips on using #Mastodon: https://techcrunch.com/2022/11/08/what-is-mastodon/
Especially helpful: links to 3 tools to find the people you #follow on Twitter. I'm trying out Debirdify (https://pruvisto.org/debirdify/) and it seems to be working well!

I study #Paleoseismology, and #EarthquakeGeology. To study the faults and earthquakes that happened decades, centuries, or thousands of years back, we generally do excavations. These will expose the sediments and rocks deformed allowing us to infer how much deformation a given earthquake caused, its likely magnitude, and when did it happen. Thus, telling us how BIG and FREQUENT earthquakes can be on that fault (at that location). This is much needed to help understand hazards and mitigate risk.
A reminder to all the folks coming over from #Twitter. A favorite here is basically telling the poster you liked what they said. But since there is not an algorithm feeding you content based on what you favorite, that's all they do. They just "bla-doop" in the poster's notifications. If you want to get that post out to other people, you have to boost it. Then everyone who follows you will see it too.
(Give it a try on this post if you like)
Let’s try this again. Where you at #fediverse? Boosts welcome so we can get the best sample size.
Intro post: I'm a professor of #Biology at the #UniversityOfWashington. My training is in #EvolutionaryBiology, #BehavioralEcology, #PopulationGenetics, and #Epidemiology. I did lots of work in #Bibliometrics and #NetworkTheory. I teach #DataLiteracy. These days I spend a lot of time thinking about the spread of #Misinformation, the #ScienceOfScience, and #PhilosophyOfScience. I do a lot of #BirdPhotography and love #ravens, #crows, and all #corvids.
For your trouble, here's a perfect crow.

@marsianica Listening now. I'm not usually a big fan of electronic music but this is very nice! 🎶
This was the first release for my solo music project, Transits of Mars: "The Voices of Machines".
Still one of my faves.
