What's with the social media discourse and comparison between Tumbbad and Kantara? The two aren't even slightly similar, except that they are both heavily rooted in Indian/regional folklore. I cannot fathom why people are taking sides and getting so riled up about personal opinions.
Do you think there's enough ground for comparison or are they as different as night and day?
Btw, if you felt both movies were similar, I'd love to know why?

Movies nowadays have become a battle ground for ideology, with both groups trying to push their agenda.
Majority of the audience goes to a movie to see a good story narrated and get entertained.
Not many really go to get educated or enlightened, high time both these wings realize that.

Honestly found Anand Gandhi's remarks very salty and condescending.
Tummbad is about greed destroying an individual, and Kantara is about a wayward protagonist finding redemption.
Both have a different storyline and different narrative, why should one put down one over another.
You don't compare The Exorcist with The Sixth Sense now.
