People think of democracy as the rule of law and the peaceful transfer of power when they should think of it as sticking a gun in the face of the rich and powerful, loaded with the full force of the state so they will stop doing stupid evil shit.

The display, outside St. Susanna Parish in Dedham, MA, includes the traditional shepherds, sheep & wise men gathered around a hay-filled manger. But Mary, Joseph & baby Jesus are missing, replaced by a sign reading “ICE WAS HERE” in bold blue letters.

A British soldier has died in Ukraine during tests of “new weaponry,” according to the UK Ministry of Defence. He suffered fatal injuries while observing trials of new defensive capabilities conducted by Ukrainian forces, far from the front line. His death is being investigated.
