So. When I was 15, 16, I was "madly in love with" this guy Rick, who was pleasant enough toward me but never expressed anything like interest in more than acquaintanceship. Long story short, I haven't seen or talked to him in 33 years.

Last night I dreamed that I met him again at our current ages (me 48, him 50) & he didn't remember me at all. I woke up feeling both sad and insulted! That said, it really is his loss. Both in the dream and in real life, because I'm both a delight AND a snack.
