In my opinion, since he has taken over the site, the best way to fight him is for everyone important to stop creating content there, and force the company into a no-win financial situation.

Let it devolve into the next alt-right swamp, and make him resort to taking ads from viagra and gold scams and MyPillow.

Sure, clarify the truth when it counts, but don’t create his content for him.

Let the world see what right wing platforms do.

If you're coming from Twitter, it's probably not super obvious that you *don't* need to use the official Mastodon website or mobile app. There are lots of other clients out there, with very different design styles and priorities. The client you choose makes a great difference to the experience, so it's worth trying a few out to see what feels right for you. (Sorry for posting about Mastodon, I just worry about this particular piece of it.)

twitter is not a nation, it’s a corporation. still, it’s wild to watch fascism run its usual course through the system. elon does something freshly autocratic, people are shocked, a few leave, but many stay. what was shocking is the new normal. rinse and repeat as the shocks get more severe. once you’ve built justifications for continuing to benefit from fascism, once you’ve forgotten the friends fascism canceled, there is no bridge too far, no limit, you’re part of it
