A small hydrangea flower. I'm fascinated by these flowers. I don't know if it's the simplicity, the symmetry, the small nub in the center, or most likely, all three.

We have a bush about 15 feet long and 7 feet high that grows hundreds of these flowers every spring. I photograph them way more than I should.

A little bit taste of the tropics on a chilly winter day! (At least chilly if you are in the Northeast US).. This an abandoned lighthouse on Paradise Island outside the port of Nassau in the Bahamas. Paradise Island used to be named Hog Island until it was bought by a private investor and renamed.
