My entire adult life I've seen this type of "lemon socialism" over and over again. Privatize the gains, socialize the losses. But on the rare occasions when the government has enacted policies like student loan relief or pandemic stimulus that help anyone who isn't already rich, the right and the "moderates" and "centrists" who are their useful idiots howl about moral hazard and welfare hammocks and the evils of government "hand outs".
