Disappointed that upgrading to MacOS #Ventura broke my Chrome apps generated by #VivaldiBrowser. I only created them a few weeks ago and found the window-based workflow much better than hunting around for tabs.

Almost 180k new users joined #mastodon yesterday, a new record. This third #twitterMigration wave happened after Musk's Twitter 2.0 ultimatum to #Twitter workers. Each wave is stronger than the previous one. Here is my updated plot showing the three consecutive waves.
@freemo hi , I'm one of the new users who is very thankful to you for running this server! I noticed Qoto is reportedly running an old 2020 version of Mastodon. Do you have any plans to upgrade? Is it an issue due to the customisations?
A groundbreaking decision taken by world govs yesterday gives explicit protection to 54 species of sharks, some of which aren't critically endangered today, but soon would be without help.
This is a win for the planet really, as sharks are a 420M year old keystone ocean species that have survived 4 mass extinction events. Oceans need them to persist. No sharks, no oceans, no us.
So many people are having a bad first experience with Mastodon because they're using the official app which is lacking features, doesn't allow image uploads randomly, has random slowness, and doesn't give you easy access to the two most active feeds where you can find people (Local and Federated).
Please switch to Metatext, Tusky, or Tooot for a better mobile experience (or even use a browser).
Out of the >15k users that joined this week, over 11k are on the official apps.

We migrated and flew,
To find friends old and new,
And now we are fans of the tusk
