Crisis in HE

The upcoming #ucuRising strikes have me been thinking about the late Mark Fisher's "Anticapital after containerisation". Strikes work well for workers (eg posties and train workers), with strikes negatively affecting both the income and image of the employers. Strikes in HE however benefit employers, as they save on wages while experiencing little disruption; plus media paint us as privileged snowflakes demanding more than we deserve. Is there a better alternative to strikes in HE?

Crisis in HE

@gulbruth I completely agree that strikes are rarely a good solution for those in HE. They cause us excess stress, which is different for most workers (you physically can't run more train services to make up for the ones that are lost, whereas we end up cramming more teaching and research work into the weekends).
