If you choose C#, friendly reminder to opt out of .NET SDK telemetry BEFORE you install. (You may need to reinstall)
Adding these two lines to your .bashrc should be sufficient:
export DOTNET_CLI_TELEMETRY_OPTOUT=1
export DOTNET_NOLOGO=1
DOTNET_CLI_TELEMETRY_OPTOUT does what you'd expect, but doesn't give any feedback indicating whether it is set. DOTNET_NOLOGO suppresses the welcome message and telemetry notice.

Twitter, 2FA
@Sh4d0w_H34rt
Only SMS 2FA is affected.
"We encourage non-Twitter Blue subscribers to consider using an authentication app or security key method instead."

@zackwhittaker
@zackwhittaker There are lots of reasons to dislike Twitter, but forcing people to use more secure MFA than SMS probably isn't one of them.
Using ChatGPT means you're not learning. It's effectively a smart script for copying other people's answers. You think you might understand what it's doing, but struggling and typing is what helps you learn.
In an interview you'll be asked technical questions about your knowledge, and you can't rely on ChatGPT then.
If you're a student learning #UnrealEngine, or anything really, I really advise doing it yourself.

KeePassXC and KeePassDX are unaffected by CVE-2023-24055
@phoerious
"KeePassXC is not affected, because it doesn't support triggers."
https://github.com/keepassxreboot/keepassxc/issues/9041#issuecomment-1408260822
Jérémy Jamet, maintainer of KeePassDX said similar:
"CVE-2023-24055 has absolutely nothing to do with KeePassDX so no debate to have here.
It uses a trigger function of the KeePass PC XML program. KeePassDX does not use an internal configuration file, does not have a trigger and uses another OS that does not have the same constraints.
And even if there was this kind of function, it would require, as it is indicated, access to the application file system, that's why it is DISPUTED. Dominik explains the subject well here: https://keepass.info/help/kb/sec_issues.html
If the attacker has write access to the configuration file, you already have other problems. If this is the case, nothing prevents the malicious person from using other methods to recover all the contents of your PC and all the encrypted contents when you open an encrypted area."

@GIMP
Best case, they could just be counting the number of requests made to their update servers for each Store app.
Worst case, Windows could be regularly sending detailed telemetry on application usage in general.
Given Microsoft's data-rapacious business model, I suspect the latter is closer to reality.

It depends. I prefer ebooks as long as they don't use any kind of Digital Restrictions Management (DRM). But physical books have the advantage of never having DRM.
