If someone is "woke" they are aware of when a situation is contrary to the ideals exposed by The Declaration of Independence, written by Thomas Jefferson. That political philosophy was developed by Thomas Hobbs and John Locke, among others. It is the foundation of the United States and many other republics throughout the world.
