For those of you shopping for an electric vehicle, they are available in both exploding and non-exploding models.
Putt-putt cars that carry a bunch of flammable gasoline are 62 times more likely to catch fire than electric cars. (Electric cars never ever "explode".)
Electric cars are very cool, even if the guys who make them do dumb things sometimes.

However, Tesla's data is skewed by its penchant for buying off owners in exchange for a signed NDA.

I didn't know about that. There must be some law that requires reporting to a government agency about those incidents, but I guess all of the politicians are bought off, too.
