I took the day to decompress from the ugly, racist incident that I experienced this morning. A woman pointed a blow torch (that had fuel) at me like a weapon, and said she was going to burn me and my dog because we were ugly Chinese hos. I felt sorry for her and told her to have a good day. And that my dog was not Chinese, but Australian.

I hope one day that this country gets its act together to do more for the mentally unwell, in ways that aren’t simply about punishment and incarceration.

The more photos I see of the SpaceX Boca Chica launch pad, the more I can't see how this isn't a complete write-off.

You've got blasted support columns, structurally damaged pressure tanks, missing foundation and melted rebar.

Add to that the fact that they'll have to rework the entire design to include a massive flame trench and noise abatement system and basically it's time to tear down and start from scratch.

@gamingonlinux Good on Valve for doing that. I love how they keep the multiple versions around for better compatibility.

This morning I've been reflecting on how my Fosstodon account has evolved over the past few years, and it's become my central place for so many things.

It started off as a niche place where I could interact with other Open Source fans, and by now I'm able to follow news (even local news thanks to bots!), catch up on gaming stuff, and have conversations with people from all over the world about random topics.

It's the only social platform I actually want to use.
