@Billius27@mstdn.ca are there any reasons to expect this to drop more quickly as well such that the integral of the current data and historical data are comparable? I understand that does fix things as our healthcare system is not deaigned for such large numbers of cases as all once.

I look forward to a world where fusion powers our electricity; but we're only going to get there if we tackle climate change at scale, today, with the tools available now: efficiency, clean energy, nature + more. We know what to do, we just need to DO it! drawdown.org

COVID-19 has erased two decades of life expectancy growth in the US. Yet, leaders are still trying to gaslight us into believing that the US had one of the best responses to the pandemic.

COVID deniers/minimizers often use the CDC's misleading Community Levels map, which is mostly green, to trick people into thinking there isn't much COVID spread (which is happening in dense population centers). This is the exact same trick that election deniers use!

HOW TO TELL CRYPTO’S A SCAM:

1. FTX crashed and it didn’t wreck the real economy even a little. Unlike, say, Lehman Brothers.

2. But SBF got indicted lickety split. Unlike, say, Lehman’s executives, who were no better.

It’s wild that we can see images like this from NASA’s Webb Telescope - galaxies hundreds of millions of light years away, stars being born & dying - and yet carry on ravaging the planet as if it’s not miraculous that somehow, we’re here.

@johnrossmd Before I began working on my masters in public mgt at CMU in the late 80s, I assumed I would be one of many environmental scientists there trying to manage away from certain disaster. Instead, I was surrounded by hospital professionals but no physical scientists. And I thought to myself, "Boy, medical costs are going to skyrocket". And they did. And on the global warming thing, sorry, but no one cared when something meaningful could still be done. But at least I tried.
